A Week of Fun Shows

It's been a fun and busy week.

Last Friday, I acted with one of my best friends (and writing partner) Corinne Caputo in a ten-minute play she wrote with Sean Morrow, directed by another great friend Megan Doherty. It was part of a show of ten minute plays, each staged to feel like they were scenes of a party. The audience moved from different areas of the room, as the focus shifted between each of the scenes. It was a really fun concept, and I enjoyed seeing the work every one put up.

Last night, Corinne, Megan, and I performed under the name Youth Group in the Three on Three Tournament at UCB East. This is an annual event at UCB during the month of November, where different three person teams compete. While we didn't advance out of our round (there were some awesome teams), it was one of the most fun improv sets I've done in a while. We were the last survivors of humanity on board a spaceship, or space boat, waiting for the aliens to come and destroy us. Super silly, super fun.

Tonight, I'm very excited to perform for the first time on a brand new improv team. We're called The Hounds, and we'll be performing in a show at Under St. Marks, hosted by Half Birthday. The team consists of members of my all-female team, Florence (okay, so it's not totally brand new... Corinne and Megan are on it as well...), along with a really awesome three-prov team called Area 52. It's like a corporate merger or something! Anyway, I can't wait to take the stage with these super funny people. Here's our page on New York Improv Teams. The show starts at 10:30pm. Come check us out!
